The International Ecotourism Society (TIES), is organizing this annual conference, the Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference (ESTC) and Business to Business Networking Event that is a widely considered the most important conference in ecotourism. The first ESTC took place in 2004, and this year TIES will hold the 16th ESTC in one of the best ecological destinations of Turkey, the beautiful town of Tokat, in Anatolia. The conference will take place in July 27th to 31st of 2021.

In 2020, The International Ecotourism Society in collaboration with Sri Lanka Ecotourism Foundation (SLEF), have made all arrangements to host the ESTC-2020 in Hambantota, Sri Lanka with the blessings of HE, President, the Prime Minister, Ministry of Tourism and the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority in July, 2020. However, due to COVID 19, in its height in Sri Lanka, the hosting organizations were compelled to postpone the event for 2022.
As for the Press Release issued by the ESTC Secretariat in USA and Turkey, “ESTC will conform to the highest safety standards and procedures as defined by ICCA, and will hold all attendees and exhibitors to the strictest standards.

ESTC 21 will host important Keynote Speakers from all around the world all of whom are chief authorities in their respective fields. The event will offer an excellent opportunity to learn from them and their expert opinions on the recovery on the sustainable tourism industry on post-Covid Ara.

Palitha Gurusinghe, the President of Sri Lanka Ecotourism Foundation and the Chairman of Asia-Pacific Regional Ecotourism Council (APREC) have been invited as a Keynote Speaker for the ESTC to make a presentation on ‘New Trends and Developments of Ecotourism in Sri Lanka and the Asia-Pacific Region during and after the COVID 19’. He has also been chosen to honor “TIES Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for 2021”

The conference will take place in July of 2021. Attendees will be able to see, feel, touch, cook and eat while having educational sightseeing tours and FAM Tours in Turkey.
